I was looking at a used AR-7, decided to pass on it after your review.
I love sites like this, because usually I never know about a gun til after I have bought it.
Now that I am married and money is very tight, getting a new gun means giving up an old one. I had six in my collection at the age of 22, then none for quite a while, now I have a Star 9mm and a Romanian AK. It is really important to know I won’t be disappointed if I purchase a firearm (and one that will fill a lot of roles).
Thanks

I noticed that you mentioned that the ar-7 jammed twice in an eight round clip. Your link showed the Henry survival rifle but you mentioned something about an Armalite rifle being tested. Is Armalite making survival weapons again?

Armalite was the original manufacturer of the AR-7. They quit making it, then Century Arms made it for a while, and now Henry makes it.

I found your site very helpful- well written with good info. Do you know of a good site that outlines basics about setting up some sort of firing range yourself? I just moved to a place that has a lot of room and it is legal to fire. It would be convienent to shoot there but I’m not sure on how to set up something to target practice?

Love em’ or hate em the newer “Henry” version of the old AR-7s are quality built and reliable..as for the older ones (charter arms etc..)the feeding problen can often be fixed by filing and polishing (carefully) a small chamfer(bevel) at the bottom edge of the chamber breech where the rounds often hang while being chambered!

Hard to find a good gun review site. From the looks of it this might be the best I have found.

I am interested in buying a S&W 915 (15 round clip).
I found an article about a lawsuit that S&W settled.
Something regarding faulty safety features.
Do yu have any input on this hand gun?

Thanks.
