Ernie the Attorney on New Orleans Wi-Fi

Tuesday, December 20th, 2005 | Municipal Wi-Fi |

Ernie the Attorney (who’s lucky his parents didn’t name him Brocktologist or else he could have had a very different career) looks at the Louisiana law that prohibits municipalities from providing Internet access faster than 144 Kilobytes/second. New Orleans is avoiding the limitation now because they’re in a state of emergency. The city plans on eventually turning over operation of their wireless network to a private company.
