Jay Earns Net.fame

I noticed a visitor in the blog’s referral logs that came from Deviant Art (work safe despite the name). It turns out the artist used a photo from this 2003 blog post to make a photo manipulation.

The gun Jay is holding is a Commando made in Knoxville by Volunteer Enterprises. That post gets quite a few hits from people searching for information about the Commando, and in comments people are sharing information and trading parts.

It looks to me like the only part of Jay that earned net.fame is two of his fingers.

  2. Les Jones says:

His two fingers, his wry smile, and his joie de vivre. I’d recognize Jay’s joie de vivre anywhere.

  3. triticale says:

I remember the ads they used to run for the Commando back in the ’70s, when boatjacking was a problem between Florida and the Caribbean. “Sailing into rough waters?”

I ran across this picture of Jay about a year ago. I was searching for Fluke Multimeter suppliers in Knoxville. Since I am good friends with Jay, I was positive that there was a glitch in the Matrix. It remided me of the end of “Breakfast of Champions”. Its amazing how a strange coincidence can challange your perception of reality.
