Zenreich’s Tri-tip Steaks
Sunday, April 15th, 2007 | Food & Drink |
Sounds delicious and he has some other interesting recipes. I also like this other guy’s soy/whiskey marinade.
I cleaned up my grill yesterday before it started raining and installed a new stainless burner. I’d be grilling today if the rain hadn’t decided to stay with us.

Tri-tip sounds great. I looked website for the Komado Cooker he mentioned. Like a tricked out Big Green Egg. I’ve seen the Egg. Never see a Komado. It does look like patio art.
On the marinade. Sounds good, but a note. If they are from Tennessee they would NOT be using Jim Beam. ‘Jack Daniels if you please’ (with credit to David Allan Coe). Beam is made somewheres north of Clarksville.
Heh. I noticed the Jim Beam slip, too.
I’ve never seen a Big Green Egg in use, but after reading about them today I’m curious to see how they work.

Hearth and Patio has Green Eggs. I’m sure someone else in town does too, I’ve just seen them there.
My old Ducane finally konked out a couple of months ago, after 12+ years of great use. I bought a larger (black, old style) Ducane. I bought it off Amazon. Great price and free shipping.
I found one of those Kamado corkers on Amazon too. Whew, expensive rascals. But, definitely useful patio art. I didn’t look, but I’m sure they have Eggs too.
Wow, and I thought the Big Green Egg was pricey. But you’re right about the Kamado being gorgeous. The Amazon reviews are unfortunately not good. Looks like the Big Green Egg users are happy, though.
I bought one of the higher-end charcoal grills by Weber after going gas for most of my life, and I couldn’t be happier. Nothing tastes as good as a charcoal-cooked piece of meat.
Tonight, I’m making cilantro pesto chicken strips on the barbie… making myself hungry now. Must concentrate on something else.
