Jones said there was no indication that Olson knew Berry or Aymami, and court records indicate that Berry was killed as Olson was trying to burglarize their apartment.

A burglary gone wrong was always the most likely theory to me. A car stereo was found on the back steps, and CDs that didn’t belong to Johnia or her roommate, Jason Aymami, were found just inside the patio door. The murder weapon was a knife from their kitchen.

Jason was also attacked, but survived. Some people have gone out of their way to implicate Jason in the murder (and even to threaten him with violence), and they owe him an apology.
