Nikon D90′s high ISO performance

The other week I linked to some test results showing the amazing low light/high ISO performance of Nikon’s latest DSLRs – the D90, D700, and D3. Mark Peacock recently upgraded to a D90. His D90 results for handheld portraits using candles as the only source of light are amazing.

Mark took the picture above at ISO 3200. On most cameras a picture with an ISO that high would look like a jigsaw puzzle. From the D90 it looks nice and smooth. The more-expensive D3 and D700 are rated for even better high ISO performance.
