A bittersweet Mother’s Day

This year is a sad Mother’s Day for us. We’ll be visiting my mother in the hospital today. Since Christmas she’s been in and out of hospitals and transitional care centers. When she’s home we have to stay with her 24 hours a day.

We keep hoping something will turn things around, but she isn’t the person she was a month ago, and that person wasn’t the person she was before Christmas. She’s going back to a transitional care center next week when she leaves the hospital. We’re trying to keep her out of a nursing home as long as we can and hoping someone can find out what’s wrong with her so we can have the old Dorothy back.
