My favorite Wire scene gets a brief glimpse at 2:31. I kept that episode saved on TiVo for a year so I could watch it over and over. It’s the beginning of the break between Stringer Bell and Avon Barksdale and the tension is incredible.
There’s another scene at 6:00, the setup for a potential shootout between Omar and Bowtie that has an awesome comic book feel. The YouTube video doesn’t do either scene justice, but considering they’re being mighty respectful of fair use it’s a darned good video.
