Photography is Not a Crime: High Speed Motorcycle Edition

Guy with a helmetcam gets pulled over for speeding by a cop with no uniform. Gets indicted for violating Maryland’s wiretapping laws, faces up to 16 years in prison. Ace has the details and helmet cam video.

Totally unrelated, but how cool is that GoPro video camera? For 300 clams the video is amazing.

Unfortunately, the guy may be in line for a (stupid) fine for not shutting off his camera as MA is one of those states where it’s illegal to video/audio tape w/o permission.

Stupid law only designed to protect those who operate in public but want to be kept from being criticized in public.

The GoPro stuff is an awesome line of cameras. I race a Miata and there are a bunch of guys running them. Their new high(er)-def version is supposed to be even better than before.

I happen to use a Flip UltraHD for my race footage. Does the job and has a 2 hour capacity of 1280x720p video.

Not to brag but here’s some (edited) video of my 2009 HPDE “exploits”:

Cool video. Very smooth even at fullscreen.
