Home Life > Melissa and I Are Having a Baby in September

ultrasound10weeks.jpg

Good news. We're having a baby. This is the first for either of us, and the first grandbaby on either side of the family.

The ultrasound is from 10 weeks, and we're at 16 weeks now. Due date is September 28. In another month we'll have the ultrasound that can tell us the baby's gender.

Melissa's having a pretty easy pregnancy as pregnancies go. We had a little scare here, but everything checked out OK. She's finishing this semester, then doing a 3-week summer term, then she'll have the baby this fall and go back in the spring.

That is great!
One thing no one can really tell you is how absolutley wonderful it is to be a father.
Sure tehy can go on and on, but until you get to marvel at and hold teh miracle in your arms, you can't really "get it".
Congrats!

Congrats and best wishes.

Thanks for the good wishes, everybody. I'll probably be asking your advice in the future, besides boring you with baby pics.

...all the best to you and your new family, Les.... good luck on your upcoming adventure!..

Oh yeah, just you wait. Ever been through the sleep depravation torture tests that special forces go through?

Seriously congrats. My daughter is in her seventh week and is just starting to 'do' nights.

Fun, fun, fun.

Geez, I am not looking forward to the sleep deprivation (and the less said about puking and potty the better). Luckily, Melissa will be off for the first three months, so she'll be first line there and can sleep in the next day, with me as backup until she goes back to school.

A pal at work highly recommended a local class he and his wife took on baby feeding-and-sleeping schedules. He said they and their baby were on a schedule in four months.

And thanks for the kind wishes, all. Like I say, I'll be begging your wisdom soon enough.
