E-commerce > Tuesday E-commerce Report #14

This week it's e-riffic links.

InfoWorld: 2004 IT Salary survey. E-commerce Managers averaged $98,722. That's more than Information Security Manager ($79,250) and Database Manager ($88,915). The job of E-commerce Manager has been predicted to be a growth position for a while now. That's why I moved into the field from plain Jane Web development, and why I made that title a condition of my employment. Do I personally make what InfoWorld says is the average? No, but I work for a small company in a third-tier city where the mortgage is cheap and the living's easy.

Jane Galt: Google management gets Google bombed. Death of PageRank predicted. GIF at 11:00.

Slashdot: U.S. broadband use up 42% in 2003. Good news. Once upon a time it was thought that when people had faster Internet connections, they would spend less time online because they would accomplish their tasks more efficiently. In reality, studies have shown that people who have fast Internet connections spend more time online and accomplish more tasks.

Spoons: Downside to BlogAds: you can't take a break.
