The EU courts upheld a German ban on laser tag games: "German authorities argued that "acts of simulated homicide and the ensuing trivialization of violence" violated the principle of human dignity enshrined in the German constitution." It can't trivialize violence any more than this hilarious German forklift safety training video. Via Phelps.

San Jose is unwilling to eradicate coyotes that are stalking people. I've blogged about hopelessly naive approaches to natural predators here. Coyotes aren't naturally human predators, but if they are stalking people that's a bad sign. Add rabies to the mix and you could have a problem. Coyotes are a pest species rather than an endangered species, so I see no reason to take any risks if human life is concerned.

FactCheck.org issued their report on the third presidential debate.

Speaking of which, this is the presidential debate summary I wish I had written:

OH MY GOD YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN IT!

Kerry was all "whatevr, u r a faygz" and Bush was all "U R A L4MERZ" and Kerry was all "STOP CAMPING foo" and Bush nailed him with the sniper rifle and screamed "H34DSH0T!"

After Kerry re-spawned, Bush was all "i pwn3d ur ass" and Kerry was all "my mouse is slow" and Bush was all "shut up fag no excuses u r teh l0s3r."

Then Kerry cried and threw up in his mouth a little.
