Today was get out of the house and see the fall colors day.

We hit Apple Barn and Gumped the apple products. Steyman Weinsap apples... Arkansas Black apples... dried apples... apple cider... apple doughnuts... fried apples... hot apple pie a la mode...

We came back through Wear's Valley and Townsend. Bad news: Deadbeat Pete's closed. It was my favorite place to eat in Townsend after a hike, and as far as I can tell was the only place in town where you could drink a beer with your meal. The world I grew up in is gone!
