Here's a way for Bush to heal the rift with John Kerry and with our moral superiors, the French:
As a gesture of good will, President Bush should exploit Senator Kerry's respect and goodwill he enjoys from the French and their former colonies, as well as his wife's ancestral ties to Africa, and offer him a posting where he can use his gifts to benefit America and the world.
I think John Kerry would make a splendid ambassador to the Ivory Coast. And the sooner, the better.
