East Tennessee > Knoxville Gun Show This Weekend

I totally forgot about it until I saw a billboard yesterday. Time and location here. If I had thought about it earlier I would have called some of my gun nut buddies for a group trip. As it is, I'm going to leave shortly and go by myself, but hope to meet a couple of people from the Smith and Wesson Forum.

Speaking of which, SIGP229Fan is exhibiting, and said he saw "deals galore" during setup Friday. I believe it. Last year the best bargains of the year were during the holiday season. (LATER: Kurt just called and said he went this morning, and didn't see any good deals on Smiths.)

Mike Holloway's Gun Show in the Smokies is November 27 and 28 at the Jacob Building. Then there's another RK Gun Show at the Expo Center on December 11 and 12.

UPDATE: One booth had crates full of military surplus. Makarov pistols were $114, 7 and 7 mm Mausers were $120-140, and SKSes were $160. He was sold out of the SKSes, but promised to have more at the next RK show December 11 and 12.

Hey, Les!

Geez, you're everywhere!

We've talked before about Mindy Smith (you still owe me an email, btw). And now as I'm searching for info on the Walther p22, google has again seen fit to drop me off in your ever expanding corner of the web. Did you sell your soul or something?

So, was the Walther really that bad? I was so looking forward to that as my first pistol purchase. It looks real good on paper and the price is right. But your review has given me pause. The follow ups were mixed, so I guess I'm still on the fence about it. What do you think? Have you given one another try with different brand rounds? I haven't had one on the range yet. My local shops don't stock it, so I was going to have to order it in special. Worthwile, or not? That's my question.

Hey, Dave. The early P22s were really that bad, but the new ones are pretty good. Our friend Rich has one and it works fine.

Verticle foregrip for Mr. Blasty.

50 round ruger 10/22 magazine

Grip extenders for glock 30 mags (compact 45 that holds 13 rounds cannot be beat!)

Universal Rail Mount for Mr. Blasty.

And some beef jerky.

You can get Yugo SKS for about $100

True, but you have to add the FFL receiver fees to that and purchase them sight unseen. $160 for U-pick is pretty good.
