Guns > What Guns Are You Buying This Year?

So, what guns are you buying in the new year?

I'll probably get my first Glock in 2005. I'll also get something inexpensive in 30 Russian - either a surplus SKS or a new SAIGA. Suggestions welcome, BTW. I like the SAIGA because it's new, but I'm leaning towards the SKS because it has character and history.

I'd go with the saiga. They're getting real popular and a lot of accessories are coming out. Plus, you can convert them to an AK config.

BTW, there's a pretty sharp looking SKS that will be up for auction saturday from the KPD.

I want a rolling-block rifle, Santa...

But, Uncle, what about diversity: platic and wood? ;-) Actually, in rifles I'm all wood and no plastic. So maybe I need to diversify.

Mike: I just watched a TiVo'ed Tales of the Gun about Remington Arms. Their rolling block guns were really sweet. I remember looking at them a few years back. Expensive, but really nice.

I sort of want a Thompson/Center system. I just don't have any hunting plans right now to justify it.

The saiga comes in plastic or wood.

And there's a thompson for auction at the powell auction too. I'll be out of town for work (dammit!) but I'll be in Vegas (cool!). I'd rather spend the bling bling on guns than gambling.

If you go, let me know. I may ask you to proxy bid on one of those 38 revolvers.

Sure thing. I'm probably gonna go just to check things out and see if I can luck into a deal.

Mike wants a rolling-block. What else does everyone want this year?

You know I don't exactly like guns so I don't have one I want. If I did like and were going to get one, it would be something in a 1911. Maybe a S&W. The look of a 1911 is so sexy. Hubby has a 1911 Gold Cup and it's the most beautiful thing...as far as guns I don't like go. heh

Anyway, I can't believe you will be getting your *first* glock? Geesh, you should have at least three already so you better get two.

Well, as I only have a 12ga and a 22LR pump, I am thinking about a hand gun.
Maybe 357, so I can shoot 38's for practice.
Most likely will be a SA revolver of some sort, so I can practice sight alignment properly.

And I still need my SKS, as I understand it, everyone should have an SKS in their closet.

You're asking me to try to determine which C&Rs I'll find good deals on in the coming year? Oi vey.

Trust me on this. Old guns will be bought.

April 15th is buy a Python for trainer day...

Well, I'll be selling my first glock (G23 - in case anyone's interested) and buying myself my first 1911 (I am leaning towards a Kimber but trying to justify the expense of a Colt). I'd also like to get myself one of those Browning A-Bolts. And a Garand (which I don't have yet).

Just got it. Kimber Ultra CDP II. Nice.
