Gun Pic of the Week: Zeleska 600 Nitro Express Revolver - True or Not?Via Freedome Sight, Airborne Combat Engineer has the specs on this bruiser. I'd like to get confirmation that this thing really exists. As ACE points out, there was a picture of a .50 BMG revolver picture floating around that turned out to be bogus. This seems more legitimate, but after I got burned on the German prostitution story, I'm more skeptical than usual. I saw one of the Beretta Storms in .45 ACP at a gun show in NH last weekend, FWIW... Posted by: Jay G at February 10, 2005I can't imagine how much that four barrel monster weighs. It looks to be chambered for 12 gauge. I bet all that metal will really do something to the swing as you cross a clay pigeon--what, I have no idea. I looked at the commercial four barrel and it was chambered in 28 gauge and .410. Pretty gun too. You have to request the price, which means too high for my checkbook. Oh well. Posted by: Denise at February 10, 2005Thanks for the link, Sir. I've challenged my regular readers (all five of them) to prove the .600 Nitro Express revolver does, or does not, exist. I extend that challenge to your readers. Apparently there was a video of a guy firing it, or at least something purported to be it, but that web link has been deleted. I'm guessing some rich guy commmissioned it. That's how the .700 nitro came to be, supposedly. In any case, it probably exceeds a practical and healthy size for a handgun. Posted by: ACE at February 10, 2005In a comment at A-C-E, Daniel E. Waters (noted firearm historian) provided a link to an archived pdf article in German about the revolver, which is well illustrated. If it's a hoax, somebody sure went to a LOT of trouble to set it up. Posted by: ACE at February 10, 2005A Google search on the Zeliska turns up a couple pages of links. Agree with Ace. I think it's legit. Posted by: jed at February 10, 2005I would like to sign up for your sweepstakes. Posted by: Connie Burton at February 16, 2005http://www.pfeifer-waffen.at/cms/html/index.php?module=htmlpages&func=display&pid=15 at least the company has a web page www.pfeifer-waffen.at Posted by: x458 at April 05, 2005I shot the .600 Nitro Express pistol (Thompson-Center Encore single shot loaded with a 1040gr bullet) and a muzzle brake. Kamikaze (Bob Knight) Posted by: Kamikaze at August 16, 2005It's most certainly real, but very expensive. Just look at http://www.pfeifer-waffen.at and check it out. Those little buggers are hand-crafted on order! AFAIK, only two are in existence, one chambered in .458 Winchester Magnum. Posted by: elShoggotho at May 05, 2006Post a comment
