Last week I ran a story about a woman in Germany who was going to lose her unemployment benefits if she didn't accept a job in a brothel. I had a few doubts about the story, but it ran in a respectable paper (The (UK) Telegraph), and had plenty of names and details that could be checked. I even checked Snopes, and didn't find anything, so I posted the link.
Now Snopes has determined the story isn't true. Since I ran the original story on the front page, I'm running the correction on the front page. I've updated the original with a link to Snopes.
