Trackback spam for online casinos was getting out of control, so I had to make a change in the site. I turned off trackbacks on posts that are older than 21 days. I actually made the change two weeks ago, and it seems to have fixed the problem.
The script I used was mt-close.cgi. There's a mt-close2.cgi that has more features and works with MovableType installations that don't use SQL. It didn't work for me, but it might work for you.
