wow, that is funny.

though you have to admit that if you were able to be killed by an electic car, you were on you last legs.

I know personally it would take no less than a hummer to kill me.

When I was in college, I worked on the university's electric race car. Now, when I say electric race car, most people think "electric go cart." In fact, this car was an open wheel racer weighing 2600 lbs and with a top speed around 180 mph (200+ if geared correctly). The problem was that most other universities' cars were relatively quiet, even at speed. It's kind of eerie to see a bunch of race cars doing 120 in the straight aways with almost no sound.

Of course, being the badass engineers we were, we had a seriously souped up motor and motor controller that required forced air cooling. When we turned on the cooling fans, the car was only slightly less noisy than a jet aircraft at take-off. (How souped up was it? The motor could draw 1000 amps at 480 V and put out 700 ft-lbs or torque at 0 rpm. The car did 0-60 in 4s even with 1200 lbs of batteries which it would drain after about 5 miles)
