Oh, it's love definitely. Tom Cruise, actor and man, has a deep and abiding heterosexual love for Katie Holmes, who is an actress and woman. Cruise - who definitely isn't gay! - just wuvs his wuvvy wuv wuv like a big ol' puppy dog. A big ol non-swishy puppy dog. In conclusion: not gay.

Daniel Drezner wonders why people are freaking out over the Cruise-Holmes engagement to the point they're telling Katie Holmes to run away.

I think Cruise and Holmes are really playing this up way too much. Maybe it's to quash the perpetual gay rumors, or maybe one or both of them are just shameless publicity hounds. The whole thing reminds me of the saccharine interviews Jim Carrey and Lauren Holly gave demonstrating their doe-eyed love and kittenish affecton. They were divorced within a year of those interviews, so either they hit a huge relationship pothole or they were hamming it up for the cameras all along.
