Tech > Interview with Network Security Expert Marcus Ranum

From SecurityFocus via email from a colleague. Marcus Ranum is a big dude in the infosec arena. Among other things, he wrote the Gauntlet firewall and founded Network Flight Recorder. Interesting stuff if you're interested in network security.

Among the highlights, he has sensible responses to the people who way "Forget perimeter security. Just encrypt everything" (data loss isn't the only problem) or "Forget perimeter security. Just secure every computer to the Nth degree" (you wind up with man-in-the-middle attacks, and if you can't secure the perimeter, you have no hope of securing all the hosts). He also has thoughts on how the Internet RFC process works today, in 2005, as opposed to yesterday, in 1990.

He may be top in security but when it comes to photography no way.He just ruined an up and coming amateur photographer saying he copies other peoples work.I am a model and the guy he ruined took photos of me.Marcus Ranum also is getting it around that Murrayfield live8live with images of Bono and others were stolen.Marcus has a bad memory because Alfredo1 of renderosity.com Mr Donegan in this case has requested several images from Marcus to manipulate. I have seen this all.
Marcus is also preading hatered against this poor guy who has no site now because he had to terminate his freewebs account.Images taken in Dundee Marcus says they are in Pensylvania USA.I thought the Discovery was in Scotland.Or I suppose other photographer took them....hmmmm for a farmer whizz kid in security a businessman living in a remote area miles from a srudio sure ruined a small business guy trying to make a living...I hope and I am sure many agree hope it all back fires on Marcus
Bono what lovely images mr Donegan took and were on his website in the personal gallery page just for show.all ruined.I have written with several people to www.u2.com about this
Hope u guys can spread the news about this tyrany who loves to ruin people
With respect
