Quotes > Amnesty International

"We at Amnesty International are not going to condone the escalation of the flow of arms to the region. You are empowering (the victims) to create an element of retaliation. Whenever you create a sword-fight by letting the poor people fight back and give them the arms, it creates an added element of complexity. You do not know what the results could be."
-- Trish Katyoka, director of Africa Advocacy

Found in the latest Check on the Bias, from Alphecca, who says to the above, "Well, we already KNOW what the result is when the "poor people" can't fight back!" Yep. They get slaughtered by the ruling government or tribe in places like Darfur, Cambodia, and Rwanda.
