So one reason I split with the left is that too many liberals pick apart every word coming out of a Republican White House, but are willing to give murdering dictators the benefit of the doubt. Classic example: Fidel Castro is the unelected dictator-for-life of Communist Cuba who jails dissidents and reporters, yet critics of Bush's health care are willing to believe Cuba's rosy child mortality figures. Likewise, they swallowed Saddam's claims of high child mortality under UN sanctions, which led to the corrupt Oil-For-Cronies program.

Case in point of why you can't trust state-run media in a dictatorship: Reuters quotes an article from a state-run North Korean Web site:

Kim pilots jet fighters, pens operas, produces movies and accomplished a feat unmatched in the annals of professional golf by shooting 11 holes-in-one on the first round he ever played.
