Blogging > New Sitemeter Location Feature

sitemeter-locations.gif

Jane at Politburo Diktat gave me a heads up on a new Sitemeter feature. Under "Who's On" you can see the geographical location of the visitor, or at least the location of their network's egress router. Here's my results. Sometimes the location is generalized to a country (Australia) and sometimes it's more specific (New Castle, New South Wales). For US visitors you generally see city and state.

Its fun isn't it. I can barely tear myself away. I know I do a lot of Yemen blogging but I cant get over how many of my readers are from the, what would we call it, the non-West. Thanks for the link to the Commissar.

It is interesting. I try to discern patterns, and I'm not sure if they're there or not. For instance, sometimes I'll see a bunch of visitors from my area (I'm in Tennessee), and then others they'll be from another country. The Canadian visitors are probably from a link Colby Cosh (who is Canadian) has on his front page right now.
