Blogging > Jakob Nielsen's Top 10 Blog Mistakes

Read it here. I really need to fix problem #1 on my blog and post some kind of bio. If your blog is hosted e on Blogspot, TypePad, or a similar service, read #10. Getting your own domain is cheap and wonderful.

I dunno about the first 3 but the rest is good advice.

I shudder whenever I see Jakob Nielsen has released a new list of web do's and don'ts, but I usually end up looking at them anyway.

I gotta disagree with the first 3 (well, I do have an "about me" post and there is a picture of me on the blog sitting at th countertop as well as firing a shotgun) - mostly for reason number 9 (or in my case having to meet with the occaisonaly congressional staffer who's boss I may have called a not too nice name the previous day). Of course, one of the reasons I haven't picked up number 10 (other than being lazy and cheap) is that if I own my own domain name, then my identity can easily be exposed.

Go figure - two anonymous bloggers aren't down with having about pages and pictures of themselves.

Top: you can use totally bogus information when you register your domain as long as the email address works.

i thought number nine really did not matter if you have no identifable preseance that can be linked to your real name by googling.
