but Althouse is making a mountain out of a molehill. Atrios is not his commenters, and Althouse is being too thin-skinned, particularly with so many of the comments being facetious (unless you think "Feminism is OK in its place. in the kitchen" on a left-of-center blog is meant unironically).

Even asking Atrios to condemn his commenters is as ridiculous as Kerry asking Bush to defend him from the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth - if he didn't sic them on he can't sic them off. Anne, if you find it offensive, then get down in the mud and fight. Stand up for yourself. I've taken tons of crap while slogging it out in the comments on other people's blogs, and it never once occurred to me to ask the blog owner to protect me from the meanies.
