It ranks only as the 12th-biggest day historically, according to market researcher comScore Networks. It's not even the first big day of the season. It may work, too. The Business Week story cites several stores that had successful Cyber Monday promotions. Though the phenomenon was originally phony, it's entirely possible it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
