Katie is talking more this week than she ever has. We think the dam may be bursting soon.

Katie has woken up crying three times this week a few hours after we put her to bed. At first we couldn't figure out what was going on. We did the basic baby check - diaper, food, fever - and she was fine. We thought she might be getting her eye teeth in, but she only ever cried after she slept for a few hours. I finally got her to sleep by leaving the nursery lamp on and leaving the room. We think she's having nightmares or getting scared of the dark.

We got Katie a Curious George book last weekend with little flaps in the book that lift up. She loves it. She sits in the floor, lifting the flaps and babbling like she's reading.

Katie got tall enough and smart enough to open the interior doors a few months ago. Now she's reaching for the storm doors. We're having to keep the storm door locked or close the main door.
