February 16, 2006A&E > LogomaniaBe A Design Group notices a common pattern among logos for companies that start with a C. Prepressology notes a symbol hidden inside the whitespace of the FedEx logo. I never noticed it, either. Comments
This gives me a mild boost of pride in the Celtic Grove logo. The text of the logo is based on insular semi-uncular scripts typical of Irish manuscripts. The original was drawn by hand, then scanned and converted to vectors. This became the basis for the later variants. Happily I avoided the cliche` of sticking a vowel inside the initial C. Every now and again even a blind squirrel finds a nut. Posted by: Christopher Range at February 16, 2006Just wanted to stop by and say thanks for linking to Prepressology. I find that most people I talk to are not aware of this little hidden design. Of course this has prompted a lot of designers to ask the question...Is it really good design if so many people missed it? Posted by: Jake at February 26, 2006Post a comment
