A&E > Tonight's Season Finale of "The Shield"

This the last episode of the season. The big question is whether to wrap up the storyline of Jon Cavanaugh's (Forest Whittaker) investigation of the strike team, or if they'll let it roll over into next season. For that to happen they'd first have to conclude last week's subplot with Lemansky going on the run instead of going to prison after he signed a plea agreement. The only way I can think of to wrap it up is for Lem to die. That way all the blame goes on him and the rest of the team is protected.

According to the TiVo description Danny identifies her baby's father tonight. So there's that.

Liveblogging and spoilers after the jump

I like Claudette as the chief.

Dutch and Steve are going to be the odd couple.

Dutch just found out that the vending machines Steve whats-his-name installed when he was acting captain were owned by him. Major leverage.

So Vick is the baby's daddy. I guess. They didn't come right out and say it.

Damn. This is one time I hate to be right. And the way it happened... That may have been too much. Shane's such a weak bastard.

LATER: Interview with Forest Whitaker about his role on the show.

Damn, can you believe how they ended Lems role, I was pissed and sad at the same time, i know it's a show, but man he was a great guy in this series...

Yeah, it really drives home how much those guys have screwed up their lives by being corrupt. And Lem was the least corrupt one - the guy trying to pull them out of it - and he's the one who has to die.
