A&E > Is It Just Me, or Do New Movies Not Suck?

All of the sudden I actually want to go to the movie theater to see a new release movie. TitlesI want to see:

- The Inside Man
- The Sentinel
- Flight 93
- Lucky Number Slevin
- V for Vendetta
- Thank You for Smoking

I honestly can't remember the last time there were this many new movies that looked good to me. And unlike last summer not one of them is a remake. I'm fired up to spend $7.50 a ticket to see a first-run movie - I feel like I could spend a whole weekend in a movie theater right now, and that's been a long time coming.

Thank you, Hollywood, for not sucking so much as before.

They're about to ruin their streak though... Poseidon is coming out. Shelley Winters will be spinning in her grave.

Eehh... I didn't think V for Vendetta was all that great. 'Suspension of disbelief' just never occurred.

I would like to see 'Thank You for Not Smoking', though. NPR has done a few stories about that movie, and it sounds really good. Sadly, only Downtown West is playing it.

16 Blocks was pretty good, too, althought I don't think it's out anymore.

I've seen all except The Sentinel and Flight 93, and got my money's worth for each. Seems like they finally let a grownup decide which movies get made.

I strongly recommend Thank You for Smoking. It was worth every penny.
