Home Life > Thank Goodness for Small Problems

So our air conditioner went out Sunday. We couldn't get anyone to come out Sunday, and Monday we were gone all day on Hwy 30. Tuesday - see Sunday. So Wednesday we have a guy scheduled to come out.

Wednesday morning at work I get a call from Melissa. The new van which we've only had for two weeks has a flat tire, which means she can't take the kids to their checkup, and she may miss the appointment to meet the AC repairman.

Luckily, the flat was because of a screw in the tire, and the AAA man fixes it on the spot. Last night the AC repairman came to the house, and luckily he just needed to replace one wire in the AC's compressor to fix it. It looked like things had turned around.

Wrong. This morning I wake up to a call from my mom in her mother-in-law apartment asking why there's a tree outside the door. Luckily, it missed the house and the only loss was a tomato plant (and possibly the chimnea - we won't know until the tree gets pulled off of it). The big maple fell parallel to the house and landed in the driveway where we normally park our brand new mini-van. Luckily, Melissa had moved the van last night to make way for the AC repairman.

UPDATE: The chimnea's a goner, along with the Purple Plastic Pool of Paradise. When o when will Nature end this pointless cycle of gravity-related violence?
