I found the 1934 newspaper article I was looking for at the Lawson-McGhee Library. More about that, and the Clarence Bunch Gang and Babe Simpson in general, next week.) The East Tennessee History Center didn't have that 10 year or so run of Knoxville Journals, but wow was I impressed with the McClung collection on the third floor. The renovation is stunning. If you're interested in Tennessee history or genealogy give it a visit.

I'm on Market Square at Tomato Head using the nearby WiFi. Melissa's coming to meet me for lunch. There's a concert in the square shortly. Nice day to be downtown.

After I leave I'm going to the police department to get a copy of the report for the night Johnia Berry was murdered. It may or may not tell me anything, but I've always been curious about the initial report.
