A&E > Yo Quiero Lyle Lovett and His Super-sized Band

or

Play that Munchie Music, White Boy

I love Lyle Lovett. Great singer, great performer. But This Old Porch always cracks me up.

And this old porch is like a steaming, greasy plate of enchiladas
With lots of cheese and onions
And a guacamole salad
And you can get'em down at the lasalle hotel
In old downtown
With iced tea and a waitress
And she will smile every time

I always expect the next stanza to recount his painful rejection by a Chalupa Value Meal, and how the only way he could drown the heartache and heartburn was by drinking 2-for-1 El Presidente Margaritas from Chili's. When he wrote this song he was either thinking about writing jingles for a Mexican joint or he had the munchies.
