East Tennessee > UT vs. LSU 2006

We got to attend the UT-LSU game thanks to our friends Starke and Amanda. We had so much fun we're talking about buying season tickets.

How big is football in Tennessee? With three days to go before the 2006 election Senate candidates Harold Ford, Jr., and Bob Corker attended tailgate parties at the UT-LSU game in Knoxville. We ran into Ford outside Neyland Stadium and Melissa got to shake his hand. She cast her ballot for him in early voting last week. I'll be cancelling out her vote on Tuesday (because I trust Corker a little more on gun rights issues), but I won't cry if Ford wins. I was impressed that he was walking around by himself without an entourage meeting voters.

And here's the game. It was a hot one that came down to the final seconds.

The Big Orange Glow

Maybe it was the autumn colors. Maybe it was the low angle of the sun. Or maybe it was the acres of orange shirts and hats, but there was an orange aura over the stadium that night.
