Dancing Baloney > "Tennessee Trash" PSA

Via Chez Bez.

This is a cult favorite from the '70s. "Tennessee Trash" was an anti-litter PSA featuring an awesome song sung by Ed Bruce. It starred a dirty guy in a wifebeater who drove down the highway in a convertible gleefully throwing trash on the road. This is the version that was re-released in 1998. Didn't the original end with a voiceover that said "We have met the enemy, and he is us"?

In the original version, I think Ed Bruce was not only the singer in the commercial but also the guy in the wifebeater in the car

Ed Bruce was the guy in the car in the re-vamped PSA from 1998 but not in the original one from 1976. He sang the song in both PSA's. You can watch both PSA's and read the song's lyrics on my website at www.tennesseetrash.org
