I just bought two of these BellSouth personal two-way radios at Amazon. For $10.99 each I couldn't resist. They come with four AA NiMh rechargeable batteries and a battery recharger. Just a recharger with four AA NiMh batteries is worth $10-20, so I can't see how I can go wrong. I'll let you know how the radios work.

P.S. I did most of my Christmas shopping at Amazon and wound up signing up for Amazon Prime. The $79 annual fee was just a few dollars more than what two-day shipping would have cost for that one order. In return I get a year's worth of unlimited two-day shipping. Can't argue with that.

UPDATE - I just received the radios and they use AAA, not AA batteries. My bad.
