Bonus! - Did you know there's such a thing as non-magnetic stainless steel? Triticale mentioned it a few weeks ago. First I had heard of it.

Yes I did.

Some folks believe that non-magnetic CRES(teel) won't be noticed by a magnetometer but they're wrong. Just as Aluminum is non-magnetic and easily picked up by a magnetometer so are these steels.

I've known about non-magnetic stainless for about 30 years, but only because I worked for a steel construction firm and the guys there were telling me about the difference in prices for various steels.

I do believe that's what the little shutters on floppy disks are made of. Makes sense that they would want something non-magnetic.
