A&E > Movie: "An American in Paris" (1951)

I'm not a fan of song and dance movies, but An American in Paris is pretty amazing. Melissa tells me that Gershwin wrote the music and Gene Kelly did the choreography.

If I wasn't surfing the Internet at the same time I might be bored right now, but as is I like it. There's a 20 minute or so dance scene at the end with no dialog. That takes a lot of guts. I get the impression that the people behind this movie didn't lack for vision or confidence.

It's a great movie...Gene Kelly was very much a visionary, and a taskmaster, too. Debbie Reynolds says he nearly killed her while they made"Singing In the Rain."
