Alberta Brewer, wife of the late Carson Brewer, has passed away.
Growing up I read Carson Brewer's columns in the Knoxville News-Sentinel and had several of his books. He wrote frequently about travel, and nature, and East Tennessee. The Brewer's travels were part of the inspiration for mine and Melissa's goofy trips exploring sleepy towns and unusual places in East Tennessee and neighboring states. The Brewers always struck me as a happy, peaceful couple who enjoyed the little things in life.

Sad news. Used to see Carson and Alberta occasionally as their son Kit & his wife lived on our floor in 'The Big Cracker Box In The Sky' [otherwise known as Kingston Pike Married Students Apts.] while my bride and I were pursuing our undergrad degrees.
A gracious Southern lady; may she rest in peace.
