Home Life > President's Day 2007

I had the day off, and it was nice. I got up early, because I had to take the kids to pre-school. Once I got there, though, I wasn't rushed to get to work like usual, so I stayed a while. I got to talk to the girls' teachers, meet a couple of the kids, watch Katie do her arts and crafts project, and then talk to another parent on the way back to the parking lot. It's a good pre-school, and I like the teachers there.

I stopped by the Starbucks on the UT strip and got a coffee, then met my brother in Maryville to help him pick out new glasses. I went grocery shopping, got our taxes done, and met some friends for a long lunch.

After that I got in another errand and went to the house to wait for Ginny to bring the kids home from pre-school. I got Katie's walker out of the attic, cleaned it up, and took it to mom's for Natalie. Mom and Natalie are thrilled with it.

The other big thrill of my day was cleaning the bathtub and shower with the Easy Off Bam! I bought earlier (works pretty well). I even threw the shower curtain in the washing machine to clean it. (Did you know you can do that? I just found out last year. Just wash it rings and all on the gentle cycle, then put it back on the shower rod to air dry.)

So that was my big, exciting day off. Pretty nice, really.

Yup... aware, but I sidetrack that issue. I double up on my shower curtains, a hotel-grade industrial vinyl (with embedded fungicide) goes on the inside and gets replaced yearly or every other, and the "good" shower curtain goes on the outside for looks.

Since the inner curtain sells for $10, I figure it's no great shakes to toss it once it starts to stiffen up from use and minerals.
