Environment > Miscellaneous Al Gore Souvenirs

(I know, I know. Old news. But I wuz sick last week and didn't get to post these.)

Eric Scheie lampoons "carbon offsets" with "homophobia offsets," which I guess are the opposite of Coulter Cash."

The next time a politician gets caught with his pants down I can't wait to compare it to Al Gore's "carbon offsets." In my gag the politician will claim he purchsed "hardon offsets" in which he paid someone else to not have sex so that the total amount of sex in the world remained the same.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer looks at the ruccus over the $135,000 annual power bill for the 33-room vice-presidential mansion. The property belongs to the Navy, which paid $93,300 of the bill last year. The Democrats in Congress are trying to make Cheney pay for it all, possibly in an attempt to embarrass him because of his energy consumption.

The punchline from that article? It was the Clinton-Gore administration that shifted costs to the Navy. And when Gore was vice-president he was housed in the same residence and used 25% more energy than Cheney.

That firm that sells the carbon offsets Gore buys? The founder and chair of the company is All Gore.

One more I can't find a link for. In his rebuttal Gore encourage Americans to visit an online carbon calculator and calculate their carbon emissions. Thing is, the calculator won't let you enter the amount of energy Al Gore is using. The designers never dreamed anyone would use that much energy. Link appreciated.

Too funny. Very politically incorrect.
