A&E > New Movies, DVDs - Borat, Zodiac, 300

Borat comes out on DVD today. I pre-ordered a copy from Amazon and received a notice yesterday that it had shipped. Borat is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen (and also the filthiest, so it isn't for everyone).

The Frank Miller comic book 300 comes to the big screen on Friday. Miller wrote the "Sin City" comic book series and many others. His story arc in "Daredevil" that involved Bullseye and Elektra was the basis for the 2003 Daredevil movie.

David Fincher's Zodiac starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert Downey, Jr., opened last weekend. The Zodiac case is fascinating, and I've blogged about it before. Zodiac was a comic book villain come to life, complete with costumes, ciphers, and taunting letters sent to the police and newspapers. For background, visit Tom McCoig's Zodiackiller.com, which is going to be very busy for a while.

There have been other Zodiac movies, but without major stars or a producer like Fincher (Seven and Fight Club). So far Rotten Tomatoes has it at 85% fresh, which is promising.

I can't wait for Borat. Absolutely can't wait. My husband is going to Wally World tonight on the way home. Maybe he'll buy a copy for us.
