News > And the principal would serve the pony, too

Who says school cafeteria food is disgusting?:

A lunch lady threw away four cases of oranges (about 500 oranges in total) because they were molded, brown, or had turned white. ... But the principal marched the lunch lady out to the dumpster and made her pick through the nastiness to rescue the handful of good oranges - which were ultimately served to the students.

Reminds me of the old joke. Dad tells his son to clean out the horse stall, which is stacked three feet deep in horse manure. The boy gets a look of ecstasy on his face and begins shoveling manure enthusiastically.

The dad asks, "Why are you so excited about shoveling manure?"

The boy answers, "If there's this much horseshit there must be a pony under here somewhere!"

I was so appalled at that principal. And the school system for not backing up the lowly cook. I think we have a caste system going in the school systems.

When I read that I imagined the principal all sweaty and screaming.
