March 27, 2007Guns > Jay Earns Net.fameI noticed a visitor in the blog's referral logs that came from Deviant Art (work safe despite the name). It turns out the artist used a photo from this 2003 blog post to make a photo manipulation.
Here's the original: The gun Jay is holding is a Commando made in Knoxville by Volunteer Enterprises. That post gets quite a few hits from people searching for information about the Commando, and in comments people are sharing information and trading parts. Posted by lesjones | TrackBackComments
It looks to me like the only part of Jay that earned net.fame is two of his fingers. Posted by: Steve K. at March 27, 2007His two fingers, his wry smile, and his joie de vivre. I'd recognize Jay's joie de vivre anywhere. Posted by: Les Jones at March 27, 2007I remember the ads they used to run for the Commando back in the '70s, when boatjacking was a problem between Florida and the Caribbean. "Sailing into rough waters?" Posted by: triticale at March 29, 2007I ran across this picture of Jay about a year ago. I was searching for Fluke Multimeter suppliers in Knoxville. Since I am good friends with Jay, I was positive that there was a glitch in the Matrix. It remided me of the end of "Breakfast of Champions". Its amazing how a strange coincidence can challange your perception of reality. Posted by: Tony M at April 03, 2007Post a comment
