Economics > U.S. Reaches New Low Against Pound, Euro

That's the bad news. The good news is, a mile is still 1.6 times longer than a kilometer, so we've got that going for us, which is pretty good.

I never know what to think about high vs. low currencies. As this piece notes, a small dollar has helped improve foreign tourism to the U.S. and has shrunk the trade deficit. On the other hand, it sure is nice to be able to buy cheap foreign goods and services.

I prefer to say that the kilometer is 5/8 of a mile.

That's much more denigrating.
