East Tennessee > Weirdness on Pellissippi

So I'm driving home on Pellissippi Parkway an hour ago. This vehicle pulls off the side of the road in front of the car in front of me.

I hear a "whap whap whap" noise. I slow down, then I see where the noise is coming from. The vehicle two cars in front of me is pulling a trailer, and one of the trailer's tires is shredding violently. Then I realize what's on his trailer, which is a utility trailer like you might buy from Home Depot.

Dude is hauling a Corvette on a four wheel utility trailer that's lost one of its tires. It's probably dangerously overloaded (which is why the tire blew and why he pulled over) and now it's worse because it's running on three tires. And of course he doesn't see any need to get the tire fixed before getting back on the road. As I take my exit I get a look at the vehicle. It's a blue van, hauling a Corvette on a trailer, and with a full sized basketball goal strapped to the van's roof.

I need to watch the 11:00 news to see if this guy's on there. Lunatic.

A lot of weird things happen on Pellissippi - I once noticed in my rear view mirror fast approaching me. I was in the right lane heading toward Oak Ridge, and there were other cars in the left lane.

The idiots were obviously racing, so when they got to the double lanes of traffic, one went around in the little paved area between the left lane and the median, and the other went to my right, between me and the guardrail! Neither ever slowed and went out of sight.

Damn, if I'd had my Mustang then I'd ran the both down like the morons they were!

I took a truck muffler to the windshield at 80mph on Pellissippi once...
