Quotes > A WTF Rudy Giuliani Quote

"We look upon authority too often and focus over and over again, for 30 or 40 or 50 years, as if there is something wrong with authority. We see only the oppressive side of authority. Maybe it comes out of our history and our background. What we don't see is that freedom is not a concept in which people can do anything they want, be anything they can be. Freedom is about authority. Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do."
 -- Rudy Giuliani, March 1994.

That last sentence is one of those "freedom is slavery" inversions. I really hope the 2008 election doesn't become a Hobson's choice between Giuliani and Clinton.

Vote for who you want to be President, not who you Don't want to be President. Don't vote for someone so you can prevent someone else from winning.

See, thing is, I can't get enthusiastic about Giuliani or Clinton.

I could get enthusiastic about Fred Thompson.

Yeah, don't make me do a write-in...cuz I will!

If anyone thought the last two or three or four presidential elections were nothing but a bunch of circuses and clowns, they're in for a treat next year.

Doesn't look good.
