Soon we'll have auto update functions in the movies.
Please wait.. the movie is being updated
The updates will fix visual bugs as well as plot holes.
He thinks he's kidding, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it happens. A prerequisite will be digital movies on rewritable media, but that's happening right now with movies on demand. In fact, having movies stored on a centralized system (your cable company, Amazon, TiVo, etc.) makes it even easier for control freak directors to endlessly edit their movies.
Pretty soon we'll have movies with version numbers.
